After months of negotiations, the County Government Workers Union has successfully secured a 15% salary increment for all county government employees, effective January 2024.
The County Government Workers Union (CGWU) is proud to announce a significant victory for our members. After extensive negotiations with county governments across Kenya, we have successfully secured a 15% salary increment for all county government employees, effective January 1, 2024.
This achievement comes after months of dedicated advocacy and negotiations led by our union representatives. The increment will benefit over 250,000 county government workers nationwide, including healthcare workers, teachers, administrative staff, and technical personnel.
“This is a testament to the power of unity and collective bargaining,” said James Mwangi, CGWU Secretary General. “When we stand together, we can achieve meaningful improvements in the lives of our members and their families.”
The salary increment is part of a broader package that also includes:
